One Wonderful Weekend

Last weekend was an epic one for me. The Paperie invited Kelly Purkey to come and teach a weekend of classes at the store and it was perhaps one of the best crafty weekends for me. Nevermind that I got to play host to KP!

The only downside-I was usurped.

Yep. Eugene fell in love and they were cuddle buddies.

So the weekend started with a meet and greet at the store for Kelly. There was also a little book signing.

You might say a few people were excited. Ahemm, Tina!

And Lori!

There was talk of poses of course...

and there were smiles and silly faces too.

I don’t think Kelly knew what she was getting herself into honestly!

But, it was fun if not exhausting.

We're all eternally grateful to Janna & Wendy- the owners of The Paperie- for bringing her to our little island to teach classes!

Saturday started with a layout class from KP, followed by my mini-album class.

If Kelly likes her scrapbooking simple I clearly like mine complicated because my Daybook class was overwhelming-I’m clearly a sucker for punishment because in my head I thought that we would be able to compelte it all in 3 hours. Obviously, I was wayyyy off. Well, that’s what pictures and instructions are for right?!

Saturday evening we spent the night at the store for a crop and it was fun too.

Sunday M & I took Kelly to brunch at Bleu on Water before heading in to the store to see the tail end of Sara’s tag class.

Then Kelly taught her mini-album in the afternoon. Another testament to how simple but spectacular her style is. There was also a visit from a few kiddos who liked Kelly too!

Sunday evening Kelly got her first taste of lobster poutine among other Newfoundland yummies.

There was lots of picture taking of food and chatting and it was another great night.

Monday turned out to be a beautiful day with a sunny sky and big puffy clouds. Perfect for a little sight seeing & more eating. I took Kelly to By Da Beach for delicious fish and chips next to the sea.

I feel like i’m cheating on The Ship Pub but it might have been the best fish & chips in St. John’s. From there we saw Signal Hill, Quidi Vidi Village, Cape Spear and the outside of The Rooms. Turns out that it isn’t open on Monday.

We also hit up the Newfoundland Chocolate Company for some yummy chocolates. The rest of the day was spent chilling out and relaxing, cathcing up on social media and watching videos of JT from SNL & Jimmy Fallon. And then M made a pit stop at the supermarket for cheese and meat and we snacked. It was just perfect.

It was truly an awesome weekend and I was sad to see her go on Tuesday. So was Eugene.

Now, that was a fantastic weekend!
